EGGBOROUGH Kites overcame Eggborough Ospreys 6-4 in a table-topping Selby Fasprint Table Tennis League first division clash.
Despite the presence of both the 2005 and 2006 singles champions, not one player from either side managed a maximum three-sets victory.
Kites pair Dave Lamb and Martin Hood claimed two victories, as did Jim Robe and Dave Jackson for Ospreys.
The match was decided by the doubles with Lamb and Hood winning in three straight games.
Eggborough Kestrels enjoyed a 10-0 whitewash against Eggborough Merlins with Bruce Parker, John Peters and Phil Hall all clinching three sets each.
Merlins captain John Halliday went to four games with Parker and five against Hall but his efforts were in vain.
In division two, Eggborough Hawks beat bottom team Eggborough Harriers 8-2.
Don Lambe and Colin Peacock both triumphed in three singles sets. Peacock and Mick Walker also proved far too experienced in the doubles.
The management committee has decided that all league fixtures with scorecards not received by April 10 will be null and void and any personal wins will not be included in the averages after that date.
