AS a York resident who is concerned about the proposed use of the Union Terrace car park for the Arc Light project, I believe that Barrie Stephenson's comments are misinformed (March 22).
One of our objections is that there are already homeless drop-in facilities available "in my backyard" courtesy of the Salvation Army. Those local residents expressing concerns over the development should not be dismissed as "NIMBYs". We have reasonable and practical concerns that are referenced against the council's own site-selection criteria. All the residents involved in the campaign are asking is that the city council and interested parties like Mr Stephenson take the time to review and take into consideration our concerns to ensure that final site selection for Arc Light meets the needs of all parties involved.
Sian Hodgson,
