Former York-based jockey Alan Munro can get punters off to a good start at Brighton tomorrow.

Munro, who returned to his apprentice roots last summer to clinch the Ebor Handicap on Knavesmire aboard Sergeant Cecil, teams up with nap selection Killarney Beauty in the opening Blue Square Poker Sprint Handicap.

Trained at Newmarket by Willie Jarvis, Killarney Beauty was a Nottingham winner as a juvenile and ended last season with creditable efforts in defeat at Goodwood and Doncaster.

Her fitness tomorrow has to be taken on trust as she makes her reappearance, but, with Munro in the saddle, she is taken to hit the target at the first time of asking.

Richard Whitaker, who is based near Leeds, sends Steel Blue on the long journey to the south coast course to tackle the Live Football @ bluesquare.com Handicap.

A useful handicapper, who tends to pay his way each season, Steel Blue will have the assistance of Hayley Turner, last year's joint-champion apprentice, who has won on him in the past.

Pillars Of Wisdom ended last season by scoring on this course and it looks a good omen that Sussex trainer John Dunlop is sending her back for her reappearance in the Play Mecca Bingo Online Handicap.

Paul Doe has the mount on the four-year-old, who has only three rivals and promises to take all the beating.

The £20,000 Rase Veterinary Centre Handicap Chase over two and three-quarter miles is the centrepiece at Market Rasen, and this valuable event could well fall to Big Rob, provided that Brendan Powell's charge does not revert to his former sloppy jumping habits.

Having failed to complete the course in successive outings earlier in the season, Big Rob has performed more encouragingly since and his recent runner-up effort at Exeter was over only an extended two miles.

He may be open to further improvement over tomorrow's longer trip. Leighton Aspell has the mount.

The £17,000 Paul Testo's 50th Birthday Novices' Handicap Hurdle looks a good opportunity for Brumous to complete a hat-trick.

There was much to like about the style of his latest success at Leicester at the end of January and he is fancied to oblige again on his handicap debut.

Orpen Wide will not be short of supporters in the opening Willingham Woods Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

Trained just across the road from the Lincolnshire course by Michael Chapman, Orpen Wide proved a useful money-spinner on the Flat last year, winning over sprint distances.

He showed, however, that he possesses the stamina for hurdles when finishing second at 125-1 to the useful Opera de Coeur at Stratford.

Provided there was no fluke about that effort, Orpen Wide should take plenty of beating here. He will, alas, however, be only a fraction of the price he was last time.

Also worth noting are the consistent Before The Mast (2-40) and the promising Ovide (5-10).
