Extra workers are set to be drafted in to ensure York's big wheel can spin as planned in time for the Easter holidays.
Components of the Yorkshire Wheel have still not arrived at the National Railway Museum.
A museum spokeswoman said she understood the 27 sections had now arrived in Britain from their factory in Germany, but were just awaiting transportation to the city.
She said they would definitely be delivered on Monday, and she believed additional people would then be employed to ensure the wheel was assembled by the end of the week. It was originally expected to take ten days to assemble the wheel.
The spokeswoman said experts would have a week to complete testing of the wheel, so it can open on Friday, April 7 - the start of the Easter holiday fortnight, when York is a major destination for holidaymakers.
