Clifton clinched the John Smith's Sunday Pool League in style with a whitewash over visitors Fossway.

Steve Scott, Jon Mitchell and Chris Wilbraham all recorded doubles for Clifton.

Long-time leaders Brigadier could only draw with York Health Club after being 3-1 up. Health Club fought back to take the next four frames until Jim Kilmartin's last frame win squared the match.

Crystal Palace 'A's late run came to an abrupt ending with a 5-3 home defeat to Mitre who stretched their unbeaten run to six matches. Graham Kelly won twice for Palace and Raff Ingriselli did likewise for Mitre including the last frame.

A Steve Richardson double put Fulford Arms 3-0 up at Carlton Tavern but the hosts replied with the next three frames aided by a Dave Bailey double. The last two frames were shared.

Andy Shepherd added the Captains Cup to his singles title beating Keith Watkinson (Health Club) in the final.

Earlier he defeated Alwyn Hardy (Dringhouses) in his semi-final while Watkinson disposed of Chris Alfieri (Crystal Palace 'B') for his place in the final.
