TALKING of innovative transport networks, we can only admire the Clifton cycle path.
It is very important that cyclists have working brakes and, thanks to the lane which runs through the new Woodland Chase estate, they get the chance to test them. After merrily pedalling away, the rider must come to a sudden stop, or crash into a fence which has been installed across the path.
We have been racking our brains as to the purpose of this dead-end track. And then it dawned. This is a cycle path for people on exercise bikes.
