TWO trialists will get their chance to impress Billy McEwan on Wednesday night as York City reserves take on Grimsby at KitKat Crescent (kick-off 7pm).

Former Coventry City goalkeeper Jonathan Tuffey, thwarted from a Monday debut because of a waterlogged pitch at Scarborough's McCain Stadium, will get his chance against the team currently bottom of the Pontin's League.

Midfielder Martin Butterworth will also be out to show what he can do.

James Dudgeon returned to training yesterday following a virus and stiffness, but both Mark Convery and Nathan Peat were sidelined by injury.

Convery has a hip muscle problem and Peat a knee strain and both will be closely monitored ahead of the Burton Albion game on Saturday.

Training itself has again been hampered by the poor weather, but McEwan thanked York College for helping out with facilities.

City manager McEwan will go face-to-face with fans tomorrow at the York City Social Club as the guest of the York Minstermen.

Doors open at 7pm.

City fans are being encouraged to dress up for the next family day on Sunday, April 9 against Kidderminster.

Discounts have been set up at several fancy dress outlets in the city for York supporters on that day and the best dressed adult and junior supporters will be rewarded on the pitch at half time with mascot Yorkie goiving away a host of prizes.

Commercial manager Elliott Stroud said: "Let's hope those attending for the first time will enjoy the day and come back for more."

Junior fans can also get in for £1 with a voucher that was been printed in the Evening Press.

City Reserves (v Grimsby Town): Tuffey, Kamara, Merris, Holmes, Hotte, Hollingsworth, Butterworth, Webster, O'Neill, Rhodes, Stewart, Phillips, Reid, Wrigley, Taylor, Walsh.
