Determined York Under-11 Schoolboys' footballers came back from being 3-0 down to beat a City Football Development squad 6-3 in a warm-up for this weekend's North of England 7-a-side finals.

Leading scorer Dan Wilson led a spirited York fightback as he headed in two from corners, Lewis Rhodes added another two and Patrick Evans and Sean Evans completed the comeback.

York continue their preparation at Thorpe United tonight (6pm kick-off, meet 5.30pm), with the squad for the finals announced after the match.

Andy Lee catapulted York Under-13 Schoolboys to a rousing season finale with two of the three goals in their 3-0 defeat of Barnsley.

Lee's first came after rounding the 'keeper and slotting home. He then slid the ball into the path of James Edmond, who chipped the advancing 'keeper.

A firmly headed second for Lee from a Josh Whaite corner then rounded off the match and the season with a win over last year's champs.

York U15 sCHOOLBOYS missed out on a chance of making the league play-offs after being pipped 4-3 by Middlesbrough in the final game of the season.

York twice went close through Daniel Coult but it was Boro who hit the lead and extended it before half-time.

Chris Storey started the second half with a lob over the Boro keeper to drag one back and a free-kick gave Ben Eve an opportunity to pull a second back. An unmarked Matt Horner then levelled it at 3-3 before a goalkeeper error again let Boro in front .

Defender Tom Platt was the stand-out performer as York U12 SchoolBOYS remained unbeaten with a 3-1 defeat of Barnsley.

Barnsley took the lead but Jacob Gore set-up Jules Gabbiadini for a looping shot over the 'keeper to equalise.

Jamie Wilstrop pounced on another goalkeeping error to make it 2-0 then finished off a good run into the net.
