A HEARTLESS prankster sent a man a hoax postcard, claiming it was from his family - a year after they drowned in North Yorkshire.
John Barrett, who received the card, called it "sick" and said those responsible should be locked up.
Mr Barrett, who lives in Leeds, lost his sister, Kim, 33, niece, Aimee, 13, and nephew, Luke, 11, when they were swept into the North Sea in March last year.
The postcard, sent on Monday, reads: "Dear Uncle John, Having a great time, sea a bit cold and nippy. Wish you was here. Love Kim, Amy and Luke."
It shows Scarborough's North Bay, where the tragedy occurred.
Mr Barrett said: "They need locking up. I can't believe this is someone's idea of a joke. I can't bear to think of them laughing about our loss."
Mr Barrett, 34, has handed the card to West Yorkshire Police. A spokesman said inquiries are ongoing.
