THREE men have been killed in a crash between a car and a van in York.
The crash happened between an Audi car and a white Ford van just before 1pm today (Thursday), near the Hopgrove pub in Stockton Lane.
North Yorkshire Police spokesman Tony Lidgate said: "Stockton Lane was closed by a collision in which three men have died.
"The accident happened at 12.43pm and involved a car and a van. Two men were in the car and one was in the van. Diversions are in place and we expect the road to be closed for several hours.
"It is not causing big traffic problems because people are using other routes."
A fire service spokesman said two men had been cut from the car by firefighters, and another man had to be cut free from the van.
It is not believed that anyone else was involved in the crash. The victims have not yet been named.
