I write to extend a big thank you to you and the readers of the Evening Press for supporting the British Heart Foundation's third annual York City jog on April 11.
The event was a great success with more than 350 taking part - a record year in terms of numbers!
This was largely thanks to the support of the Evening Press in providing fantastic media coverage and telling the people of York about the event.
Just as importantly, the event should now exceed our fundraising target and raise over £10,000 to support the work of the BHF in its fight against heart and circulatory disease - the nation's biggest killer.
All the money raised by the event will go towards the BHF's work in funding research, treatment and patient care in the region.
We have received some fantastic feedback from participants and volunteers who have contacted us to say how much they enjoyed the event, what a great atmosphere there was, and how scenic the route was along the banks of the River Ouse in the centre of York. The event will be taking place again in April next year when we hope to make it bigger and better than ever.
For information about next year's event and other local BHF events phone 0800 9176976 or visit the website www.bhf.org.uk/events
Thank you again for your support and contribution to making this a great event. It is greatly appreciated.
