COTTAGE Inn were relegated to division two of the York Sunday Afternoon League after crashing to a 6-1 home defeat against Wills Bar.
The result also ensured that Wills Bar, whose goals came from George Cooper (3), Stephen Baxter (2) and Shane Olley stayed up. Andrew Scorgie netted for Cottage.
Ryan Davies's hat-trick and a brace from Simon Jacob earned second-placed St John's College a 5-1 victory over Turf whose goal was scored by Jonathan Ryder.
Walnut Tree's hopes of staying up hinge on fellow strugglers College of Law who will relegate the pub side if they win any of their remaining games in hand. Walnut complete their programme with a 2-0 home loss to Dunnington, whose goals came from Adam Arthur and an own goal.
Clifton Rangers and Rose and Crown (2004) fought out a division two double-header with honours even.
Clifton won the first game 4-0 with goals from Michael Lillie, David Thornton, Gary Smith and Scott Donkin. Rose and Crown came out on top 3-0, Michael Gaul, Richard Pauer and David Rees scoring.
Cross Keys, thumped 8-1 by Bubwith White Swan, will need to apply for re-election. Peter Taylor (4), Jamie Sedman (2), Paul Musson and Chris Jackson, scored for Bubwith, who tonight play College of Law in the President's Trophy final at Mill Lane, Wigginton (6.15pm).
