YORK RUFC Under-Nines have secured a place in the Prudential Cup plate final to be played at Twickenham next month.
In a hectic programme at the Nottingham Festival, the York ranks won six games and lost only two to secure the appearance at HQ on May 28 as a curtain-raiser to the England v Barbarians game. It is the third straight year that York U9s have qualified.
York U12's won all their games to see them through to the semi-final against Sandal but they conceded a try to their Yorkshire rivals in the last seconds to bow out.
