IT'S a blank Sunday for racing in Yorkshire, and indeed the north of the country, tomorrow but there is no rest for Norton trainer Malcolm Jefferson.

He heads to Stratford with good prospects of adding to the reputation of According To Pete.

Winner of two of his three bumper races, and unlucky in the other one, According To Pete made a winning debut over hurdles at Sedgefield with a workmanlike performance which opened up new avenues to him.

This smart gelding now takes in a handicap race for the first time and does not look at all badly treated for a horse on the rise.

Tom Dreaper, who has ridden a number of winners for Jefferson this season, claims a valuable 5lb off According to Pete, who is awarded the Nap vote in the toteexacta Novices' Handicap Hurdle.

Colin Tinkler, the former Malton trainer now based near Lambourn, can land the totesport.com Handicap Chase with Smart Savannah.

This lightly-raced ten-year-old underlined his well-being with a win over this course-and-distance last month. There is promise of more to come from him.

Trainer Jonjo O'Neill can provide punters with a good start to the meeting by scoring with Mikado in the opening race, the toteplacepot Novices' Hurdle, while recent winner Up At Midnight should go well for jockey Mick Fitzgerald and Sussex trainer Richard Rowe in the totepool Mares' Only Handicap Hurdle.
