AS I watched TV programmes depicting global warming and millions dying of famine I was upset, not for myself but for coming generations, ie grandchildren.
It struck me that politicians and scientists are starting at the wrong end.
Get some trees and plants in, as they clean the air a lot. When will they get our farmers to be farmers again? Dairy farms, lambs on the fells, arable farms are all going out of business because they can't make a living.
Big supermarkets are largely to blame; they set size, shape and time for products and customers too are brainwashed to demand the same. But if one is really hungry, size and shape don't matter a damn.
Our soil in Great Britain is the most fertile in the world and our farmers best at growing, too. We used to have grain mountains, butter and other mountains. As a nation we could feed many, many hungry people. Let's use our own natural resources now, not stand wringing our hands. Let's get organised and dig for Britain.
