IN ALL walks of life limits are set. We have speed limits, drinking limits for car drivers, limits on luggage-weight on aircraft and many more.
If one is caught exceeding these limits there is no point in saying: "I was only 2mph over, or two units of alcohol over".
People are usually aware of the limits and should be prepared to suffer the consequences when caught.
Even at local council level, we have limits set for planning applications, and we are told what to put in the green and black wheelie bins.
If we overstep the mark our local council comes down on us like a ton of bricks.
Limits are set for a reason and, no matter how small our council tax is compared with others, the limit set by the Government applies to all; and the only one to blame for being capped is our arrogant Liberal Democrat-run council, which knew the limit and chose to ignore it at our expense.
The fact that the Government held back the money promised is another argument and should be dealt with as such.
We should not compound one mistake with another.
