HARROGATE Town pushed themselves to the brink of the Nationwide North play-offs with a 3-1 home win over Lancaster City.
Victory next Saturday at second-placed Stafford Rangers, who have already qualified for the play-offs, would be good enough for Neil Aspin's men to be in with a shout.
The only side able to stop them are Stalybridge, managed by ex-Town boss John Reed. Five points adrift of Harrogate, they need to win both remaining games - at home to Barrow tomorrow and at Droylsden on Saturday.
Town took the lead against Lancaster on 28 minutes with a Joe McMahon own goal.
Gareth Grant doubled the lead before the interval, but it was a nervy finish when Ryan Elderton scored before Grant's 90th-minute finish.
