Selby RUFC battled their way to a 22-22 draw at Bridlington but it was not enough to save their Yorkshire One skins.
They were relegated along with old rivals Goole but gave a much-improved display at Dukes Park.
A late penalty by Brid's Jamie Maru signalled the end of Selby's six-year tenure in Yorkshire One.
They had got off to a cracking start with three Dan Porter penalties putting them 9-0 up early on. Maru then scored a close-range try before Porter responded with a fourth penalty.
Maru's second converted try made it 12-12 after 24 minutes but Selby soon went back into the lead when Shaun Austerfield finished off a neat move in the backs. Porter's conversion gave Selby a 19-12 lead but Brid hit back before the interval with a try by Adams which Maru converted to level the scores once more.
The second half was a tale of missed penalties by both sides until full-back Porter slotted over in the 70th minute. Selby clung on until the third minute of added time when they were penalised for a high tackle and Maru's boot salvaged a draw for the home side.
