CENTRE Carl Palmer swept over for four tries as York Acorn ARL Club swept aside Castleford Lock Lane 30-4 at Thanet Road on Saturday.
The result was never in any doubt as Acorn continued their fine showing in National Conference One and were 24-0 up by the interval.
Palmer already had three tries under his belt by the break with winger Steven Irving and scrum-half Andy Gargan also crossing the whitewash.
The second half was an antic-climax with Palmer added another try and kicking his third goal of the match.
Lock Lane's only score came from a quick tap penalty.
Apart from Palmer, Under-18 player Chris Varley showed up well at hooker and there was also a fine display by prop Peter Wallace.
Heworth led division two favourites Ovenden for 20 minutes and held them until after half-time - but eventually their strength ran them into a 48-8 win.
Early tries by youngster Leigh Rientoul - just hours after playing for the Heworth colts - and another for Mike Welsh after good work by Chris Smith and star loose forward Luke Judson had them 8-0 up after 27 minutes.
But Ovenden, who won 106-0 last week, raced clear with man of the match Danny Jones scoring four tries and kicking six goals.
