CHRIS HEARLD is the new president of the York Society of Chartered Accountants.
He took over the office for 2006-2007 from Keith Ward of UHY Calvert Smith at the York Society's annual meeting at the Kilima Hotel, York.
Chris, born and brought up in York - he attended Huntington School - now lives in Wheldrake, and is an audit partner at KPMG, Leeds, which he joined in 1992.
In 2004, he was the winner of the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants Rising Star award for high achievers under the age of 36, having been promoted to audit partner within his firm aged only 33
He gained a BA in economics at Durham University
He enjoys spending time with his young family and is a vice- president of York City Knights Rugby League Club.
