IT was a wet Wednesday morning and we were stuck for something interesting to do with our grandchildren.
We then saw an advertisement for a Roman catapult workshop at the Yorkshire Museum.
Not quite sure what we were in for, we turned up at 11am and the children had a marvellous time.
They learned all about the Romans in York, were provided with equipment to make wonderful working models and went on to a workshop about Roman coins and jewellery.
The staff were superb. The children had the time of their lives and it was quite a serious job to persuade them to come home for lunch. Congratulations to the Museum Service on an excellent idea very well carried out.
