HAVING moved from York in November last year I can say, without doubt, that it was the best thing I ever did, for my sanity at least.
While keeping in touch with the goings-on in York regarding the City of York Council and the ever-increasing fury over the council tax, the latest I read is that a massive document was sent to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to say why the council tax in York should not be capped. How much did that cost?
Maybe it's about time that the officers of the council looked at the wages and expenses bill for the elected members; a sharp cut in those costs would save a fortune, I'm sure.
Oh, and while I mention the council, do you know the best way to get proper representation at the next election?
It's to vote for independent candidates only. Do not vote for any of the "parties" whether red, blue, yellow, purple, green or any other colour.
Keep Party Out Of Politics, it's the only way forward.
And no, I'm not standing for election anywhere.
