ARTISTS from across North Yorkshire will be getting a chance to display their work together at a charity exhibition in one of the county's finest stately homes.
Picturesque Castle Howard, near Malton, will be the setting for the exhibition - called artexny-2006 (Art Exhibition North Yorkshire).
It will showcase the work of more than 30 artists, including painters, sculptors, ceramicists and photographers, who live and work in the county - along with those who were born and brought up here.
The show has been organised by York Against Cancer, and the charity hopes it will become a regular event.
Simon Howard, owner of Castle Howard Estates, said: "I am delighted Castle Howard is to host such an innovative charity event.
"Yorkshire once again leads the field in terms of contemporary art, and there could be no finer backdrop than Castle Howard's long gallery to display our county's current crop of diverse artistic talents."
The exhibition will be launched with a black tie private view on Friday, September 1, hosted by Mr Howard and his wife, Rebecca.
It will then be open to the public over the following two days - September 2 and 3. All works on display will also be for sale.
