FREE travel on buses for senior citizens - what a laugh.
Senior citizens living over the boundary in East Yorkshire, a mere six miles from York in some cases, have to purchase a boundary pass at a cost of £10 per year just to get into York.
They cannot go to Monks Cross, Clifton Moor or the designer outlet, or use the Park & Ride. They can, however, travel free to Hull, Doncaster, Scarborough, Pontefract, Selby etc (only about 30 miles and at least one change of bus).
So easy when you are a senior citizen or disabled.
Ironically, I am told that York senior citizens can travel anywhere in the East Riding absolutely free.
