I have written a couple of times before on the subject of the "studentification" of York.
I live in Bath which has systematically been destroyed by the two universities and their so-called students.
Most are layabouts encouraged into higher education because they unemployable.
I have the misfortune to live in an area of Bath which has virtually been taken over by student accommodation.
Bath's population is about 80,000. At present 20,000 are students, and this will rise in the coming year.
There is no local housing for residents and schools are being closed.
For those of us trapped, life among students is absolute hell. The universities do not care and do nothing about their behaviour. I will have been lucky if I have had a good night's sleep in the last year. We have elderly people living in fear in their own houses.
So to the residents of York, fight against all proposals for expansion of the universities, your peace of mind depends on it. To the powers that be - don't be hoodwinked by promises - remember it is residents who pay your wages and you will become dispensable.
Miss A Phillips,
Coronation Avenue,
