WE should like to thank Chris Titley for his excellent series of articles, Yesterday Once More, sadly now at an end.
As "incomers" to York 36 years ago, we have learned so much about the rich history of the city from these well-researched articles and photographs.
The final one, on the local artist Edwin Ridsdale Tate, prompted us to attend the lecture given by Peter Hamilton, Master of the Cordwainer's Guild in the National Centre For Early Music last week. This added further to our appreciation of the city, which we now feel is "home".
We hope The Press will continue to give encouragement to the various bodies which are trying to keep what is valuable of York's historic buildings and spaces.

Editor's note: Nostalgia is a very important part of our coverage. Yesterday Once More, far from stopping, will continue in a new format, focusing mainly on evocative pictures of the past.
