YORK Acorn runner Dawn Gibbs is still on cloud nine after a great performance in the London Marathon.
She was the first Over-50 finisher in the capital and her time of two hours 58 minutes and four seconds was a personal best by ten minutes.
She was the 60th woman overall, including the elite internationals, out of more than 10,000 female finishers.
In a remarkably even-paced run, Gibbs' 10k splits were 41min 25sec, 42min, 42min, 43min. Her first half was 1hr 28min and second half 1hr 30min.
For the first half of the race she was about 50 to 100 metres behind the leading O50 runner, but she caught her rival just after half way and went on to win her age group by three minutes.
