LEADING pigeon fancier Dave Wright is flying high with birdies and eagles.
The winner of many awards in the world of pigeons, the Selby Golf Club player is now amassing silverware in his new sport of golf, which he has only been playing for less than a year.
Playing off a handicap of 20, he won a medal competition to clinch the Coates Cup as well as taking the captain's prize in a stableford contest.
Said Wright, who only started playing 12 months ago despite holding Selby GC membership for 15 years: "I have enjoyed my pigeon racing very much and intend to carry on, but I also hope to continue my early successes on the golf course."
