BOTH Harrogate Railway and Tadcaster Albion are waiting on decisions from on-high to decide whether or not they win promotion.
The Rail will definitely finish third in Northern Counties East League premier division after a 3-2 defeat of Arnold Town, while Albion earned third in division one with a 2-0 win over Teversal.
Respective promotions - Railway to UniBond League division one, and Tadcaster to the NCEL premier - could both be granted with second-placed Liversedge in the NCEL failing ground standards and division one winners Carlton moving grounds over the summer.
But the Rail will have to wait until a meeting on May 11 and the Albion decision doesn't yet have a date.
Harrogate's goals came from hat-trick hero Graham Marchant with Arnold pulling back two including one straight from the kick-off after a goalkeeping error.
Albion ended their season with a fit-again Paul James opening the scoring with a bullet-header from a Dale Waddington corner, before young sub Phil Biscombe set Steve Ward up for a second.
Part one of the all-North Yorkshire Bank Holiday weekend double-header - part two was taking place at Selby Town at 3pm today - ended 1-0 in Pickering Town's favour.
Ricky Greening hit the decisive strike inside the first 15 minutes to get the points for the Pikes.
Goole have been relegated from the UniBond League division one in their first season.
It had been feared that the one-point deduction imposed after a signing-on glitch would make the difference, but a win at Kidsgrove Athletic instead of the 3-3 draw would have saved them.
The Vikings went 2-0 down and Kidsgrove made it three shortly after James Bonarius was sent off but a dramatic comeback with Steve Davey opening Goole's tally in the 80th-minute followed by a late Andy Gill double, just was not enough and Goole are back where they started.
