HARROGATE Town go into Tuesday night's Conference North play-offs as rank outsiders to claim the remaining promotion place.
Neil Aspin's men were given odds of 7-2 to win the knockouts, with their semi-final opponents tonight, Stafford Rangers, the 7-4 favourites to go on to win the final ahead of the two semi-finals.
Stafford finished the season in second place, well ahead of the chasing pack, to get home advantage in the semi-final, but Harrogate gleaned some psychological advantage over their hosts by beating them 1-0 in the last game of the regular season on Saturday, a result which assured Aspin's team of fifth place and the last play-off spot.
They also held the hosts to a 1-1 draw in the reverse league fixture at Stafford in February when Rangers saw former York City veteran Neil Grayson sent off.
Droylsden booked their place in the play-off final with a 1-0 semi-final win over Nuneaton yesterday.
