High-flying Barnsley were put to the sword by York under-11s schoolboys' football team in their final league match of the season.
Dominant York pressured Barnsley from start to finish and could have won by a greater margin than the 2-0 scoreline.
Josh Stilgoe provided the breakthrough for York by latching onto a corner from man-of-the-match Jack Littlechild and Lewis Rhodes tied up the points with a goal from close range.
York travel north to the Academy of Light in Sunderland on Saturday when they take part in the re-arranged North of England seven-a-side finals.
They will play four out of East Cleveland, Stockton, Leeds, Warrington and Huyton. Players are to meet at the Millfield, Poppleton Business Park at 9am.
York U11 squad: James Hall, Josh Poulter, Jack Littlechild, Patrick Evans, James Robinson, Tom Allan, Josh Stilgoe, Paul Winterburn, Dan Wilson.
Unbeaten York U12 schoolboys will go to Nottingham to seal the league title. They could have done it against Derby but for two soft goals that levelled the score.
Jacob McCormick headed the first after interplay by Jordan Holt and Jules Gabbiadini. The second also featured Holt and man-of-the-match Gore before Gabbiadini shot past the 'keeper.
