Saif Sareea, who has been a revelation since being bought out of the bargain basement last summer, can add to his earnings at Musselburgh this evening.
The Richard Fahey-trained gelding, a runaway winner at Catterick last week, carries a 6lb penalty in the £12,000 Forth One Handicap, and is napped to oblige again.
Simon Walker, who works for Timeform at Halifax, claimed Saif Sareea on behalf of his Ipso Facto syndicate for a mere £6,000 out of a selling hurdle last August, and since then the six-year-old has won five races - two over hurdles and three on the Flat.
As part of the syndicate agreement, Saif Sareea is due to come up for sale at Doncaster later this month, but he looks set to gain a sixth victory tonight in advance of coming under the hammer, assured of making considerably more than his previous purchase price.
Paul Hanagan, who had an armchair ride at Catterick, again has the mount on the Malton raider.
Norton trainer Tim Etherington can claim the feature race, the £18,000 Weatherbys Insurance Handicap, over five furlongs, with Fullandby.
Kevin Darley's mount, who underlined his progression last season by notching a Newmarket success on his final start, highlighted his well-being on his comeback run at Kempton last month when he finished third in a pretty competitive handicap.
Likely to have benefited from that outing, Fullandby is a useful sprinter in the making and is fancied to win from his plum draw of one, which puts him next to the favoured stands rail.
David Barron has his horses in excellent form, and the Maunby, near Thirsk, trainer can add to his tally with Sea Salt in the Murray Beith Murray Maiden Stakes.
The three-year-old made an encouraging start to the campaign when beaten by less than a length by the odds-on Boreham at Thirsk just under a fortnight ago.
A reproduction of that form will make Sea Salt hard to beat in this five-furlong dash.
Smooth run could bring Welcome win
MIDDLEHAM trainer John Weymes will be hoping Welcome Approach has a change of luck at Musselburgh tomorrow afternoon, writes Tom O'Ryan.
Weymes quietly fancied his three-year-old to win his comeback race on the same course a couple of weeks ago.
He might well have done had he not run into traffic problems two furlongs out.
By the time he got a clear run, the race was as good as over and Welcome Approach did well to finish fourth.
It is significant that Weymes has booked champion jockey Jamie Spencer for the mount tomorrow and the hint should be taken.
Great Habton trainer Tim Easterby (pictured) has good prospects of a winner with Malcheek in the 'Daily Record First For Scottish Racing' Handicap.
The four-year-old made a bright start to the season when finishing a one-length second to the useful Dabbers Ridge, when the pair drew five lengths clear of the rest, at Thirsk recently. Over the same distance of seven furlongs, he has every chance of going one better here.
Merlins Profit, a winner on this course last season, has an excellent chance of adding to his tally in the edmonds.co.uk Handicap.
The gelding looked on great terms with himself when scoring at Wolverhampton last week and looks capable of defying a 6lb penalty under Dean McKeown.
