WATER under the bridge, you might think. Except that walker Venetia Tulip isn't afraid of making waves.

She was less than chuffed when an Escrick pub refused to serve her a glass of tap water - even though she offered to pay for it.

Now the Black Bull is in hot water after Venetia went public with her story.

Pub bosses Enterprise Inns couldn't comment - but Britvic says its drinks dispensers don't serve tap water on health and safety grounds.

That's no reason the pub couldn't serve water from a mains tap, say environmental health officers. We're inclined to agree. It's eau so silly to refuse a simple request.
