THE fashion show organised by the St Leonard's Hospice shop in Fourth Avenue, Tang Hall, was a fantastic success, raising more than £2,100.
More than 260 people packed the hall at Burnholme Community College on May 3 to watch shop staff, volunteers and customers strut their stuff on the catwalk and to buy items afterwards.
The highlight of the evening was the special outfit made of wallpaper generously supplied by Plaskitt & Plaskitt and modelled by 78-year-old Vi! We are really grateful to everyone who helped to make the event such a success - to The Friends Of Burnholme School and to the staff and students who lent us their hall in the middle of GCSE and SATs examinations; to Beryl Otley, of Get Ahead Hats, who lent us some stunning headgear; to Hughes Removals, which transported the clothes across town; and to everyone who came along and supported the event so wholeheartedly.
