MALTON and Norton GC's Emma Duggleby reached the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Ladies Championship at Doncaster this week.
She missed out on a place in the final when she lost 5 and 3 to up-and-coming teenager Kiran Matharu (Cookridge Hall) at Doncaster.
Rachel Bell (Ganton) retained her title after beating Matharu 2 and 1 in the close final. Bell had beaten her club-mate Naomi Edwards 5 and 4 in her semi-final.
Tough is tops
DAVID Tough won Allerthorpe Park's May medal with a nett 65, one shot ahead of Jonathan Baggaley, and saw his handicap reduced from 16 to 14.
Martin McCart, playing off one, had the best gross of 70. Michael Hudson's eight under par nett 62 won him the division two event, but only after a countback with Paul Mussell.
