ON Saturday, May 27, the York branch of the Royal Naval Association will turn out in strength in and around the city centre to honour their commitment to one of the oldest charities in the country.
Alexander Rose Day is only one day in the year, but it is beneficial to many other charities which find themselves in need.
Last year, the York branch received the thanks of the trustees and one of their members was awarded a special prize for one of the highest collections in the country.
It is to be hoped with the help of our always generous citizens the Royal Naval Association will once again "top the list" in their support of this very worthy cause.
We shall see you on the day.
Bernard Hallas,
Hawthorne Avenue,
York.
