HAVING comfortably won their first two division three games, Crayke received a major jolt when their batting failed against Beverley Town, who ran out winners by 76 runs.
James Bayes, with 39, and Paul Fleming (27) made valuable runs as Beverley were dismissed for 149 with Richard Wentworth taking 3-26 and Mark Hutchinson 3-29 for Crayke.
Graeme Dawson made a match top score of 47 for Crayke but was devoid of support and saw his side rolled over for 73 by Richard Laycock with 4-26, and Matthew Nicholson, who took 5-15.
There was a last ball thriller at Clifton Alliance where the home side captured the final Easingwold wicket to win by 17 runs.
Clifton skipper John Myers hit an unbeaten 81 while Duncan Naylor chipped in with 25 in a total of 171-7.
Easingwold's Alan Robinson bowled a superb spell of 22 overs to take 4-69 and was well supported by Gavin Rees, who also bowled unchanged to take 2-88.
Robinson then weighed in with an unbeaten 31 after Tom Langstaff had made 41 but John Thornton took 3-59 and Dave Heartshorne 4-31 and Clifton triumphed when Easingwold's Kevin Smith had his leg stump uprooted off the final ball of the game to leave Easingwold all out on 154.
Jason Gatus was Heworth's match winner at Sheriff Hutton where he took 5-47 in 22 overs and then made an unbeaten 54.
Joe Wilford made 38 for Sheriff Hutton but a 22-over stint from Gatus engineered a modest home total of 126. Sheriff hit back to capture three Heworth wickets for just 35 but Gatus and Paul Neal (39no) combined to record a seven-wicket victory for the Elm Park Way-based side.
ONLY two HPH York Vale Cricket League games survived the rains on Saturday - the games at Akham Bryan YPO and Hemingbrough.
