COMEDY festivals, music festivals, food festivals, Viking festivals, Roman festivals and, this week, even the first ever magic festival. York has got the lot.
Now, thanks to the Arts Council, the city's cultural life is to be enriched even more.
This summer will see more than 40 performers taking part in the International Festival Of Town Pipers. York will also play host to the second Dune Jazz Festival and, in November, the National Centre For Early Music will be laying on a concert of 14th- century Muslim songs.
Something for all seasons and all tastes in what is rapidly becoming a City Of Festivals.
