Fulford III made it a good week for the club by beating Copmanthorpe, who were promoted with them last season. Mother and son combination Anna and Govind Baker just outscored another new partnership, Mark Howarth and Jackie Heels in the 69-39 victory.
Cawood made it two wins out of two with a 72-36 victory against Dunnington in division five.
Tony Gosling and Shelagh Elcock led the way for Cawood, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season.
Andrew Lowson and Faye Garland won all three rubbers for Fulford with Richard Pears and Evelyn Atkinson, just back from Spain, providing good back up.

Glen Melia and Karen Thomas won enough games to ensure Heworth victory against Dunnington in division ten after Anne Gudgeon had to concede the final rubber.
The senior partnership of Stillington's John Garrett and Betty Bainton ensured the points at Strensall after their earlier 74-34 loss against a strong Alne side for whom Doug and Angie Pearson led the scoring.
Youngest partnership of the week were siblings Nicholas and Rebecca Turnbull who were Poppleton's top scorers in their 66-42 loss against Appleton Roebuck.
Roebuck keen to bounce back
APPLETON Roebuck are making a great early effort to recapture their first division status in the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League.
They have already chalked up two successive wins in division two, the latest coming in a convincing 80-28 victory against Selby.
Anthea Brogden and Marilyn Almgill didn't drop a single rubber and top scored with 28 games. Emma Almgill and captain Judy Marriott were just the odd game behind with 27 games and team mates Christine Howatt and Amber Hickman completed the rout with 25.

Pocklington and Fulford, both promoted to division three last summer, clashed with Fulford coming out on top by eight rubbers to one. Highest scorers were Dominique Morrissey and Anna Baker (31 games) as Fulford ran out 74-34 winners.
Escrick and Tollerton had 61-47 wins beating Boston Spa and Riccall respectively. Escrick's top performers were Heather Page and Carol Bickerdike with 27 games.
Division five saw wins for Copmanthorpe, Bubwith, Dunnington and Fulford. Copmanthorpe's Clair Fuller and Laura Jones were unbeaten with 22 games as they defeated Appleton Roebuck. Bubwith's first string Ann Airaksinen and Sue Taylor piled up 29 games in a 76-32 win at Poppleton.
Dunnington's first pairing, Barbara Plummer and Liz Stacey, had a 9-3, 10-2, 9-3 win against New Earswick.
Fulford's Pauline Craddock and Lisa Garland have teamed together and won 28 games to help their team to a 70-38 victory over visitors Knaresborough.
Starbeck, newcomers to division six, recorded their second win, beating Pocklington 64-44, in which Diana Lang and Ann Dobson were this week's top scorers with 32 games.
Wilberfoss, also new into the league, defeated Bishopthorpe 60-48 with Sonia Davis and Heather Woodburn recording 29 games.
Jane Boddy and Sue Lacy were the only couple with straight wins as they amassed 26 games in Stamford Bridge's 61-47 victory over Dunnington.
Strensall get in the groove
FEW Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League matches survived the weather last week but Strensall enjoyed a resounding 82-26 win against Wigginton in division one.
The highlight was Patrick Atkinson and Chris Evans's 31 games narrowly beating Mark Haworth and James Whitwell (29). Dunnington defeated Boston Spa 63-45 with 24 games from Paul Birch and Matthew Stephenson while Simon Hughes and Pete Smith won their team's only set. Boston Spa also lost 76-32 to Strensall whose Govind Baker and Frankie Adams amassed 30 games.
Bubwith went into top spot on games difference with a 57-51 win over York by taking the second rubber 22-14.
Appleton Roebuck made a good start against Copmanthorpe II in division three as Dave Bradley and Paul Harrison clocked up 27 games in a 60-48 victory but went down to Sherburn 46-62.
Copmanthorpe II went on to beat Bishopthorpe 62-46 with Mark Blackburn coming in to team up with Rob Abbott and score three nines.
Fulford's team effort in division four brought 79 games against Boston Spa II.
Dunnington III recovered from last week's heavy defeat to beat Heworth 64-44 and go top of division five. Jonny Holbeck and Derek Uttley took the honours with 26 unbeaten.
