RE the article "It's garbage" (May 11), I was shopping last week in Acomb. I have a mobile buggy as I am 84.
I am a York man and love my city, but, while passing a cake shop, I saw a gang of young mothers, all with babies in prams.
One came out of the cake shop, gave a child a cake and threw the bag on the floor with a rubbish bin two yards away. I said to her: "Can't you put that in the bin?" I was told to **** off. Mind my own ****ing business, old ****.
Is this what I gave five years of my life during the Second World War for? Why did I bother.
