I HAVE been interested in reading your reports over the last few days about the new ftr bus. I would like to raise a couple of points.
Firstly, why can't we have double-decker buses rather than the bendy bus?
This would have saved thousands of pounds that the council will have paid to have all the work done on the roads.
Secondly, if they really wanted to reduce emissions and go green, why can't York wait until electric buses are available in the future?
Thirdly, why the colour purple? Does this really reflect the image of York as an historic city? If a shopkeeper in the centre of York wanted to paint a shop purple, I doubt the council would allow it; so why allow buses to be so bright?
The council has proved its inability to liaise with the people who this has most affected.
