MY WIFE was driving down Green Lane, in Acomb, York, when she saw a person slumped on the pavement.
Being a nurse, she stopped the car and went to see if the person needed help.
She found out that someone had rung for assistance, so she went back to the car, got in and started the engine.
There was a knocking on the window and a parking attendant gave her a parking ticket with a warning notice saying that she had stopped on a clearway bus route.
She explained that she had
stopped to help someone, and the warden replied she shouldn't have
stopped on the bus clearway, but parked off the route.
This was just a warning, but next time it would be a fine.
So we are now not able to stop to help someone because it gets in the way of the ftr.
Another jobsworth, I'm afraid.
