I FELT that I had to make a statement re 'Brutal raiders beat up victim' (The Press, May 9).
I offer my best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured party, having been through a similar situation myself (Rent Collector, March 21, 1981).
My reason for writing is the statement made by Dave Dee: "I wish they had tried it on me."
Believe me, it does not matter whether you are eight stone wet-through or heavyweight.
It is the art of surprise; you do not stand a chance.
My attack was at 9.40am on a Tuesday morning, and I never knew what hit me.
I did later though, ha ha! But it was not funny then.
Once more, good luck to the victim. Time heals.
