York Cricket Club will steel themselves for a visit to Sheffield Collegiate tomorrow for what is traditionally always a difficult fixture.
The Abbeydale Park-based club had a virtual monopoly on the Yorkshire League title in the nineties but have enjoyed no success since 2001.
In that time Harrogate and York have become the dominant clubs but there are signs this season that Collegiate are on the way back.
They already head York in the current rankings so skipper Marcus Wood will be looking for a strong performance from his men, whose poor away form has seen them suffer comprehensive defeats at Doncaster and Hull.
At the expense of all-rounder Colin Palmer, York bring in Alex Collins after he posted an impressive innings last week against Hull.
York's home League Cup fixture this Sunday has been deferred as Clifton Park is being prepared for a Second XI Championship game next week.
It is a three-day fixture starting on Tuesday with Yorkshire hosting Surrey.
