Middleham trainer John Weymes, who completed a double on his latest visit to Musselburgh, returns to the East Lothian course tonight with good prospects of adding to his scoresheet.

Weymes saddles Attacca in the Bridgewell Securities Handicap over seven furlongs and this recent course-and-distance winner is napped to oblige again.

Winner of two of his three starts this term, Attacca looked an improved performer here at the beginning of the month when showing a good attitude to secure victory by a head.

In the in-form John Egan, Attacca will lack nothing in strong handling this evening and is fancied to do the business again.

Kevin Ryan has his string - and his two-year-olds in particular - in cracking form and the Hambleton trainer introduces an interesting newcomer in Sweet Candy in the Brooke Charity Maiden Auction Stakes.

Ryan has successfully introduced two debutantes in the last week, and Sweet Candy could well be another to score at the first time of asking. A daughter of Cadeaux Genereux, she is sure to have been well taught for her first outing and Neil Callan takes the mount.

By contrast to Sweet Candy, Oldenway is a seasoned racing veteran and Richard Fahey's seven-year-old should go well in the Talk 107 Handicap.

A super servant to Fahey's Malton yard, Oldenway gained his latest success at Catterick a fortnight ago with an all-the-way success. Paul Hanagan was on board on that occasion, and Tony Hamilton takes the mount this evening as Oldenway bids to score again.

Pam Sly, who enjoyed Classic success at Newmarket earlier this month when Speciosa landed the 1,000 Guineas, can make her presence felt at Beverley tomorrow.

Ironically, it was at Beverley that Sly, who is based near Melton Mowbray, won her first race last season with Speciosa, and tomorrow she saddles San Antonio in the Siemens Power Handicap and this smart gelding is fancied to regain the winning thread.

At his best with give in the ground, which he will certainly have tomorrow, San Antonio ran a fine race at Pontefract last time over an inadequate six furlongs. Tomorrow's longer trip will suit him a lot better.

Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda has an interesting runner in the featured Brantingham Conditions Stakes in Balanced Budget.

Having only his second start, the three-year-old got off the mark in pleasing style at Pontefract last time, leaving the impression that there was even better to come from this seemingly progressive individual. More will be required tomorrow, but he looks capable of stepping-up again.

With Ed Dunlop in such good form, it would be unwise to overlook the chances of Kavachi in the Broadway Hotel Handicap.

Although he has yet to trouble the judge in three outings, Kavachi, looks reasonably weighted.
