SOME of Haxby’s oldest residents showed the town’s younger inhabitants how to make Easter a colourful affair as they took part in a series of “eggstra” special events.
Staff at Birchlands Care Home, in Moor Lane, arranged a host of Easter-linked activities ranging from painting eggs to making traditional Easter bonnets.
And the senior citizens living at the home were delighted to show off their new Easter attire. Care assistant, Rosemary Cartmell said everyone had a good time. “It was eggstravagant and eggstra special because it was Easter,” she said.
The event also included a traditional sing-song and a raffle to win an Easter egg.
