An historic golfing tradition will be revived at Scarthingwell golf course in Tadcaster tomorrow.
Accompanied by glasses of bucks fizz and a crowd expected to top more than 70 people, the traditional captain’s drive-in will witness Scarthingwell’s new captain Andrew Joy, from Sherburn-in-Elmet, and ladies’ captain Margaret McNeill, from Hazlewood, teeing off at the scenic club.
Said course manager Ben Burlingham: “The drive-in is an excellent way to welcome our new captains into office and I’m sure they will do a brilliant job this year.”
