Coneysthorpe ‘A’ dropped three points to Holgate ‘B’ as they lost ground at the top of division one of the NEDL York and District Table Tennis League.

Martin Lowe and Ashley Hodgson were unbeaten.

Paul Robertson and Richard Crowther saw Railway ‘A’ to a 7-3 win over Coneysthorpe ‘B’, and Robertson was again undefeated as they edged out Holgate ‘A’.

A terrific performance from Dave Simpson, playing up from division two and winning his three singles, ensured Shepherds ‘A’ overcame Holgate ‘A’ 6-4.

In division two, Ed Wardman, John Flintoft and John Eastwood were unbeaten as Holgate ‘C’ whitewashed BT ‘A’, who are now in a relegation spot after going down to Bootham ‘B’, 8-2, Gareth Bryning undefeated.

Mike Robinson steered Sessions ‘B’ to a narrow win over Holgate ‘C’.

Railway ‘C’ confirmed their promotion with a 7-3 win over Bootham ‘C’ with Tim Smith excelling.

Shepherds ‘C’ were confirmed as champions of division three after first thumping Holgate ‘E’ 8-2, Paul Kozyra and Mick Surtees winning their singles. They then beat BT ‘A’ 7-3, although Jim Stevenson turned in his best performance of the season for the losers.

Bootham ‘D’ stay second despite losing a tight duel with Aviva ‘A’, whose Matty Graham starred.

Division four leaders Railway ‘F’ were held to a draw by Bootham ‘E’, as Pete Corner maintained his unbeaten record. He was also in good form as the Conservative Club went down 6-4 to Holgate ‘F’.

Aviva ‘B’ remained second though after thumping Sessions ‘C’ 8-2. Veterans Howard Lewis and Dennis Chatterton proved too much for the opposition.

Chris Megone, Mike Dinsdale and John Mothersill were decisive 10-0 winners over Holgate ‘G’, though three of the sets were decided by the minimum margin.
