A TOURING choir from Scotland aims to hit the high notes for the Lord Mayor of York’s charities when it performs in the city next month.
Berwick Male Voice Choir is staging the concert in St Michael-le-Belfrey Church, in the shadow of York Minster, on Saturday, May 8.
Tickets have gone on sale, with all proceeds going to York Against Cancer and Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Workshop, in Bishopthorpe – a working place for adults with learning difficulties.
The choir will put on a mixed programme, including hymns and songs from musicals, as well as some solo performances and instrumental music from a clarinettist, violinist and percussionists.
The concert will start at 7.30pm and tickets costing £7.50 are available from the civic office at the Guildhall, by phoning 01904 551049, or on the door on the night.
