COUNCILLORS have urged residents in the South Bank and Scarcroft Road areas of York to make a final push to vote for a 20mph zone.
The area is under the spotlight of a road safety public consultation exercise by City of York Council, with all views having to be sent in by May 18.
Around half of all householders within the area being considered must vote for a 20mph zone for it to be introduced.
Coun Julie Gunnell said: “We want safer streets and safer neighbourhoods and a speed limit reduction to 20mph is one way of working towards achieving that goal. We know there is significant support out there, but every vote counts.”
